Ice Edge Spreaders

Spreaders White

Ice Edge Spreaders are polyurethane salt and sand spreaders that last 6 x longer than traditional metal spinners.

The spreading of salt and sand is a snow removal operation where high performance is expected from both crews and equipment. The Ice Edge line of salt and sand spreaders is a high performance product engineered by polyurethane specialists to minimize corrosion, sticking and wear.

Ice Edge Spreader’s durability and reliability is the result of the use of premium quality elastomers which maximize abrasion resistance, a broad temperature range and superior physical properties such as cut and tear strength, elongation, rebound and chemical resistance.

STABILITY AND FLEXIBILITY

Traditional metal spinners are rigid and the force of any impact is transferred into the machinery resulting in damage, whereas polyurethane spreaders are resilient and absorb impacts. Metal spinners also allow the formation of clumps that cause rotational wobble during operation. Wobble can result in costly damage to bearings, shaft wear and hydraulic motor replacement. Polyurethane spreaders don’t allow clumping which eliminates wobble.

ABRASION RESISTANCE

Polyurethane exhibits better abrasion characteristics than rubber and most metals. Tuff-Kote Spreaders virtually eliminate replacement costs due to abrasion. Our spreaders can last the life of the machinery, unlike metal spinners which need to be switched out a couple of times a season.

CORROSION ELIMINATION

Polyurethane elastomers eliminate corrosion. Salt deteriorates metal rapidly, generally requiring replacement of metal spinners after 25 to 50 hours of use resulting in high maintenance costs and downtime.

NON STICKING

Non-stick properties of the polyurethane surface inhibits packing and clumping of salt or sand, eliminating the possibility of freezing. Abrasion resistance properties of polyurethane can reduce vane wear as much as 85%.

REDUCTION IN MATERIAL USAGE

Metal spinners allow the formation of clumps that causes the material to dump behind the trucks. Our 6 vein polyurethane spreaders dispense material in a 180 degree semi circle. Material usage will drop because material where it should, not in clumps behind trucks.
