Chimo Equipment Ltd. is known as an innovator in the oilfield service business. So when they wanted to create a lighter, more manageable portable gas detector package to be rented by geologists during well drilling operations – they needed an equally innovative team to make it a reality.

Wescan analyzed the traditional metal designed packages, and felt they could improve on them. They machined a mould to facilitate manufacturing the field assembly from polyurethane. Just as critical to the final design, Wescan came up with a unique solution for the mounting bracket assembly.

The new design allowed the agitator to pivot on its mounting bracket, which made it more functional. They combined aluminum and stainless steel along with polyurethane to make the mounting bracket stronger and lighter. The result is a revolutionary development that translates good design and construction into market share.
